Portraits from photographs:

I promise to bring your vision to life...with nearly any subject you have in mind; People, Pets, People with pets, Home and Landscapes, Cars,Trains, and yes why not "planes"  if you are fortunate enough to have a favorite little Piper Cub you jump in to "get away."

New: I'm not sure yet what to call this...

Taxidermy art?

Trophy art?

I'll think of something eventually or perhaps I'll just explain? Please see the portfolio pieces of people with their prize catch, fish, or game. Capture the memory of your outdoor adventure in ink...in an original way. I have nothing against taxidermy but it can be quite expensive! Or perhaps you simply do not have the wall or floor space for that North America record Moose or Polar Bear in your Manhattan studio apartment? Possibly you and your significant other do not have the same taste in decor...the latter preferring a tasteful dry flower arrangement to a full body mount of your 2,000+ lb on the hoof  African safari prize?

Whatever the case, consider capturing that memory in a special Portraits "Ink" way. Corny huh? Yeah, what can I say? If I can't shamelessly shill for me who will? :)

Method, Commissions, Artist's Commitment, Matting & Framing

Method: Each work is a completely hand-drawn original, created with the finest Faber-Castell Indian ink with woodless graphite pencils on premium heavy stock charcoal paper...all mateials are acid free.

The portraits begin with your photographs or mine.  All portraits are drawn completely free hand with museum-quality archival materials...they will last longer than oil paintings. Indian ink, and graphite on acid free canvas paper will not crack chip peal or fade with age. Consider Di Vinchi’s sketches remain in excellent condition while paintings had to be painstakingly worked to restore…and that was at least couple of years ago I think?

I can work from your photograph of good quality or I can create the photograph that I will work from…either way is fine and the price is the same.

Commissioning a Portrait:  We need simply to agree on photograph(s), size, confirm cost, and a delivery date. No deposit is required for persons on the newsletter mailing list. “sign up on Contacts page”  All arrangements can be done via e mail and or phone usually.

Commitment:  All finished portraits are subject to your approval. Simply, you are not obligated if you are not satisfied...no questions asked!

Matting and framing: I highly recommend professional framing but I understand custom framing can be expensive. Personally, I use a non-glare archive glass and a 3” matte for anything worth framing. However you may choose to purchase pre-cut matted frames. The artwork will last regardless provided it isn’t hung in direct sunlight, moisture issues, etc. Black frames and grey matte are best for ink and graphite drawings. Again, a custom frame shop will help you design your frame but fell free to contact me; I will be happy to help.

All I ask is that you do use a “matted” frame to display my work. It’s an art thing…like crying over spilled whiskey, you know?
