Some more...What's new?

Sports action drawings is my latest and greatest area of endeavor. Here are a couple...see portfolio page for a better look

The man, the myth, the legend...comes to mind as you consider Cael Sanderson's undefeated Collegent and Olympic record. Top that?

This drawing is rendered with the finest Indian Ink and pure as I could purchase soft graphite on a 4'ft x 5ft hunk of a K-Mart $3.00 shower curtain

Nothing but the best for King Cael

IHonest ingin...I don't throw this adjective around lightly i assure you but Art "The Chief"  Rooney Sr. is undoubtedly another "legend" no less in stature in these parts and any other "parts" for that matter

No disrespect but this is another shower curtain work...sorry bout that Chief!*

*Don Adams

By the way, commisioned work is rendered with the same fine materials on 180lb acid free canvas paper, canvas board, or stretched canvas for large commercial pieces.

Shower curtain work is by strange is it may be...request only.

See Services link for details

Eventually I'll move forward and draw something or someone "current" on a shower curtain, bed sheet, or some other large cheap plain white material from a dollar store. However, I just had to honor 1 more Super Steeler Staple . The Friendly Fanatic; late great Myron "double Yoi" Cope was honored at halftime of Steeler home opener at Heinz Field this year. "2008" Of course  I just had to whip up some shower curtain majic for the occasion. Low and behold the local newspaper shot it and caught Big Mean Joe Greene crying as well. No shame in that. Mr. Cope touched a lot lives in a positive way before passing by our Burgh with an H.

Besides if you can spit on Dick Butkis when you are NFL rookie and lift Paul Howard off the ground with a Rocky Balboa uppercut to the gut just for uncalled holding penalties, you are certainly afforded a tear or 2 in rembererance.

We miss Myron but could never forget  as your terrible towels fly is mass where ever the Steelers play home and "away" across the nation.

"Back in the day" as they say I had my 15 minutes of fame I suppose when I was featured in the local paper with my 1st attempt honoring "The Chief" on a 7ft x 7ft bed sheet.

Gee, I've come along way...all the way to "shower curtain art!"
Thank goodness for white sales:)

Anyway, a much better drawn second version of Mr. Rooney mysteriously disappeared after hanging in the end zone of Three Rivers Stadium for nearly a decade. It made national TV quite often during the 70's as the football fans were glued to the tube during those Super Steelers spectacular run.

The Monday night crew once zoomed in and panned away to the crowd upon returning to coverage after half time. The original Mr. Monday night "Howard Cosell" intentially paused as the camera panned out...then eloquently as only he could...waxed on about the great man who was Steeler's founder.

Well, if that was my 15 minutes, I'll take it. It could be worse you know? But I won't get into those potentially nefarious speculations.
